I sat in the birthing suite for 24 hours having an induced birth so baby could come right out the other end. Dr Hassan was with me at 6am, in and out for the day and back at close to 11pm for the birth of Vivien.

WHEN I told my prenatal yoga class that I was giving birth at Pindara Private Hospital, there were a few side-glances.

Most of them had opted for John Flynn, Tweed and even The Gold Coast Hospital. Why?

Because, as I learned during my pregnancy last year, that the private hospital at Benowa – where my mum gave birth naturally to my brother 21 years ago – has a reputation.
